For all those MMA fans that cannot get enought of Gina Carrano, soon you will be able to own her action figure.

Recently “the face of female mixed martial arts,” Gina “Conviction” Carano announced she will be working with Round 5, the leader in collectible MMA figurines, to produce a figure that reflects her stardom. Carano joins an All-Star lineup of 13 MMA standouts who currently work with Round 5.

Here is a quote from Gina: “I’m incredibly blessed to be a part of so many wonderful opportunities and to now be included in Round 5’s line up of gifted fighters is another exciting privilege,” said Carano. “When I was a little girl my dad always joked about making a ‘Gina doll’ and I smile when I think it has become a reality. It is both humbling and invigorating to consider this is just the beginning with so many other gifted women whose figurines are yet to be made.”

Joe Lauzon posted the news on his website that he will be out 12 month due to knee surgery:

Here a small piece of the announcement: “The surgery scheduled for next week will not be so simple. Unlike the last two times, I will need my meniscus repaired. Instead of just shaving that little piece out, they will be stitching it up and getting it to sit back in place. To make things much worse, I need to have my ACL repaired as well. They think my torn ACL is causing my knee to shift ever so slightly and its destroying my meniscus…. Long story short … I will be off my feet for a month to a month and a half… training SUPER light in about 4 or 5 months … training decently hard in about 9 months and fighting in around 12-14 months. It’s going to be a long rehab … but that’s how it goes.”

WEC 39: “Brown vs. Garcia” will take place from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, Sunday March 1, 2009 and will air live on the Versus network beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Axe Murderer recently talked to Fighters Only Magazine to discuss his "incredible" fight against Rich "Ace" Franklin.

 

Here is a qoute from Silva: “… incredible, because he is the last champion before Anderson. He is a great fighter, a complete fighter and it is a good first fight for me in this division…. I didn’t see this fight [with Henderson] but I have seen two or three of his fights. He is complete - good ground, good stand-up, good takedowns, and I think he is a very good fight for me. I am bringing in several sparring partners from Brazil that are also complete fighters, I will be ready for him.”

 

Fight fans this is going to be a great fight and I am going to say the Silva will be very impressive in this weight division. The fight will take place at UFC 99 from the the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, on June 13.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia will be taking on former heavyweight boxing champ “Merciless” Ray Mercer in a boxing match. That’s right, a boxing match. The bout will take place at Monte Cox’s Adrenaline 3 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
