UFC® Events to Live Broadcast on China’s Leading Sports Media Portal Starting with UFC 109

Las Vegas, NV (USA) – Hundreds of millions of sports fans in China will now have the opportunity to see UFC superstars like Randy Couture, Georges St-Pierre and “Minotauro” Nogueira fight in the UFC® Octagon™.  The Ultimate Fighting Championship organization today announced it has inked a deal with one of the country’s largest web portals, Sohu.com to present UFC pay per view events online. Named the official web partner of the UFC in China, Sohu.com will live broadcast UFC events starting with UFC 109: RELENTLESS in February.

 

UFC 112 has found a home, the organizations first event in Abu Dhabi will be held at an outdoor Concert Arena, from Ferrari World, Yas Island, on Saturday, April 10.

Words from Dana White: "This is one of the biggest and most significant nights in the history of the UFC. UFC 112 is our first ever outdoor event and it is taking place in the hometown of our brand new partners, Flash Entertainment. We are very happy we could deliver what fans around the world will recognize as a stacked card featuring the sport’s biggest stars."

The UFC is really stacking this event with two championship title fights when Anderson "The Spider" Silva defends his middleweight strap against Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort. The co-main event will be lightweight kingpin BJ "The Prodigy" Penn taking on Frankie "The Answer" Edgar.

Paul Daley (23-8-2) has certainly let his presence be known since throwing his fists into the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight, first he disposed of one-time title contender Martin Kampmann at UFC 103. Recently Daley dominated submission ace Dustin Hazelett at UFC 108.

These two victories were enough impress the boss and he is locked in for another six fight.  Next for Daley is a fight with Josh Koscheck for UFC 113 and this could be a number one contender match.  With the heavy hands that Daley possesses, any fight could end early, which obviously makes for exciting fights and he could be a threat to Georges St Pierre's reign. Who would like to see that fight?

Out of nowhere Brock Lesnar is back and should be in the octagon in Summer 2010. Recently the UFC Heavyweight champ and Dana White announce on ESPN SportsCenter that he is healthy and ready to be get back to fighting. They describe his recovery as a “Miracle.”

Finally we get confirmation on the fight between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort. According to MMAJunkie.com, Belfort’s manager Fabiano Farah confirmed that “the Phenom” will face the spider at UFC 112 on April 10^th, in Abu Dhabi.

Anderson Silva’s manager did not confirm the fight but said that Silva “began hard training and is “very fired up" to face Belfort."

The exact location has not been confirmed, as there are rumors that the UFC’s new strategic partner UAE based Flash Entertainment was planning to build a stadium for this event. Otherwise it could be an outdoor event.

Looking forward to this bout as Vitor could be the biggest threat to Silva's reign.
