Affliction: The Best For Last

E-mail Print PDF
The last three fights with the heavyweights were the best fights of the night. Affliction shows that star power does make a difference when it comes to putting together an fight card for the public. In the fight between Josh Barnett, from Wisconsin and Pedro Rizzo, the action was intense with Rizzo falling in the end. Rizzo got caught with punch to the end and succumbed but it was the precursor to the next two fights. The last three fights with the heavyweights were the best fights of the night. Rizzo got caught with punch to the end and succumbed but it was the precursor to the next two fights. The Baby Face Assassin had a classic quote in the end when he was asked who the best fighter in the division was and he said, ‘There are a lot of bad asses in this division, but nobody is me.”

In fight between Arlowski and Ben, the action was continuous and Ben showed a lot of heart. He was repeatedly pummeled and even took a knee to the head, but he withstood the barrage and finished out the round. Arlowski looked solid and was in excellent shape and prevailed in the early third round. I liked this fight because the better fighter won, but I give Ben a lot of credit for heart and he continued fighting to the end.

In the last, fight, what can I say? 37 second of pure systematic destruction of a 6 foot 7 inch man dubbed the Maniac. What a joke? He fell so fast that the only thing I saw was Tim in the fetal position. It was my first time seeing Fedor fight and I have to say, I am definitely a fan.
